Lets see, I bought my first SLR in 2003 and started playing with slide film in the Summer of 2004, and went digital in the fall of 2006, so I guess almost 5 years now.

Thanks. I don't believe there are any glaciers of any appreciable size up there. I know why you ask though. I was surprised by the color of the water too.

Stunning, I love the composition... I think the rusty remains add a story to the image. :)

Yeah, I liked it in there as a reminder of what has become of the town of Animas Forks. Thanks!

Nice photo and composition, but...

What's that thing in the water?
It looks like it was a piece of wood wrapped up in a rusty blackboard.

I think it's an axle to an old cart or wagon or something. It's old junk left behind when the town was abandoned.

You should check it out next time you are down Silverton way. It's about 15 miles outside of Silverton on the way up to Engineer Pass.

Nice comp indeed. I think it would get a better 'wow' factor at sunrise/sunset though. Maybe a bit of a blueish tinge too. Otherwise great catch.

Yeah, I was there for sunset, hoping for some sweet light but the clouds prevented it. Oh well, maybe next time. :)
