Thanks! I didn't use luminosity masks this time. I do generally but I just manually painted in my selections this time. Blending the palm trees in the upper left that were moving in the sea breezes required hand tuning and I just ended up doing the whole thing by hand.
I have been using luminosity masks on and off. I was hoping they would have been more helpful when it came to blending exposures but I have found there use to be fairly limited for this purpose. I will either get something that looks grey in the highlights or repeating elements say in the clouds that are moving.
Yeah, I think it did. I find that using luminosity masks work best with static scenes. Moving objects always require some manual intervention for me to get to look right so the more elements that are moving in a scene, the more hand tuning is required. So for a scene like this, I knew I was ultimately going to have to hand tune so much that it just made sense to do it by hand from the get go. Plus it's a good exercise in photoshop anyway. Gotta keep those skills sharp.
